Rates and Fees
The following schedule is for legal fees as of July 1, 2011. Experts, filing fees and other expenses are in addition to any attorney fees.
As part of the initial office consultation, the hourly rates or flat fee will be quoted for most cases, as well as the amount of any necessary retainer and necessary costs. A sample proposed retainer can be provided for review prior to signing. For all divorce and family law matters, a Statement of Client's Rights and Responsibilities will be provided.
Initial Consultation, Hourly Rates, Phone Consultation
- Phone Consultation for most matters: no charge
- Initial Office Consultation for most matters (per hour): $150
Contested Matrimonial (Divorce, Annulment, Separation)
Sample Retainer
- Payment of Advance Retainer is required.
- Written Retainer Agreement is required
- Hourly rate: $350
Uncontested Divorce or Annulment
Sample Retainer
- Uncontested divorce or annulment: from $2,350
Separation, Prenuptial & Postnuptial Agreements

- Separation Agreement - simple, starting at $2,500
Estate and Probate
Sample Retainer
- Last Will and Testament (simple): $350
- Last Will and Testament (complex): to be arranged
- Uncontested Probate plus subsequent administration of estate: varies depending on nature of estate.
- Uncontested Administration proceeding for intestate succession, plus subsequent administration of estate: varies depending on nature of estate.
- Accounting proceeding: Hourly rate or possible contingency - retainer required
- Other proceedings: to be arranged
Appeals

- All appeals: Hourly rate or flat fee - full retainer required.
- Appellate Level Motions: Hourly rate - retainer required.

- Child Support initial application: Hourly rate -retainer required

- Name Change Adult: $900 flat fee
- Name Change Minor on consent: $975 flat fee
Real Estate
- Residential Real Estate Closing: $1,500
- Residential Cooperative Apartment Closing: $2,500
- New Construction: hourly
- Special Circumstances closing: hourly
